We currently raise Boer goats
just for fun. They have the entire pasture to do as they please and play
until their heart is content. We all love to play with the goats and they
follow us around while we do chores. Hopefully, the kids will show them in
our local 4H… Nothing like learning responsibility from taking care and raising
animals.
Joe, Tibbs, and Rosie hanging out in their stall. They were 3 months old in this picture and now they are big "tanks"... They love their goat pellets, hay, and special veggie treats! They also eat hay, pasture, and we supplement free choice mineral block.. We have found that Wethers (castrated male) need to have access to ammonium chloride to help prevent stones in their urinary tract. Some goat feeds already have A.C., but most do not.
4H time.. But our kiddos are still too young, so let's pretend that Rosie is our Grand Champion! Rosie is so sweet and great around people. Her calm demeanor is appreciated compared to her brother Tibbs! Rosie likes to cruise around the pasture eating and playing, while giving hugs to anyone she meets!
