Garden
Every year we plant a 1/4 acre garden for our family and friends.  Each year varies with what we grow, but you can bet it's something good!

Our first harvest of the year!

(Check out Blog for the recap!)

"I grow plants for many reasons; to please my eye or to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty or nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow." David Hobson

Our Beef, Our Sweet Corn, Our Tomatoes!  You know you are living when you can say that everything on your Supper table is "grown" by the family...

Tomato harvest one... Our little one asked if we were having all of these for Supper! We had some and we canned the rest!  There's nothing like fresh tomatoes!

Another tomato harvest !!! With the wet Spring and cool Summer, we feel very fortunate to be getting a "ton of tomatoes"... We had some doubts at first, but they are coming in hot and heavy!  Looks like we might get one more big harvest before fall...

Pumpkins or as we say... Punkins!!! We tried our hand at punkins' this year and for the most part we were very pleased.  They were about a month early (not sure why-maybe nice weather/great moisture).

We grow Sunflowers for the beauty, to attract beneficial insects, and to eat the seeds!  Although we do like these traditional Sunflowers, we miss our Stargazers this year! The Stargazers were about 8ft tall and had so many sunflowers on each plant. Next year, right?

Snap Dragons galore!!!  We just let them be and every year they keep coming back and multiplying...  The Butterflies and Bumblebees love them.

A great summer project for the little ones! Create a fairy garden for Tinker Bell and friends!  You can add anything and everything you can think of! Get creative!
