Free Range Pasture Raised Meat Chickens/Egg Layers

Our chickens are free range pasture raised! They have total access to our pasture all day until it's time to go to bed.  Chickens also get a ration of grains/feed on a daily basis. Our pastured chickens get to live their life as chickens should- in the great outdoors with fresh clean air, with all the greens they can eat, and hunt and peck until their heart is content!  We currently raise Leghorns, Jersey Giants, Red Coments, Red Rangers and Pioneers!   There is nothing like farm fresh chicken and eggs.

Some of our free range chickens out roaming around in the pasture. They have access to the pasture all day long! These are true free range chickens. Nothing compares to the taste of free range chickens and eggs!

Farm Fresh eggs! All different shapes and sizes. Remember, there is no difference in taste or nutritional value when it comes to brown and white eggs! But there is a HUGE difference when it comes to farm fresh eggs compared to store bought.

Another round of chickens! Once again, we are going with Pioneers. The last batch had a great growth rate per week and they grew the way chickens should-slow and steady, not fast and unnatural like some of the "Franken-Chickens" sold at the stores.

These pioneers are days away from going out to the pasture.  Mixed in with this round are some Pearl White Leghorns, which we will keep as laying hens.  We have always had red comets for layers, but we want to start moving towards more heritage breeds.

Next Round of Baby Chicks straight from a hatchery in Iowa... We were very pleased with our Red Ranger chickens, but this round we wanted to try a new breed called Pioneers.  Both have very similar characteristics (hardy, does well on pasture, friendly, and good tasting meat!)  After a few weeks in a big brooder, they will be moved out to the pasture where they can eat all the bugs and pasture they want.
